Admission

Undergraduate Program 

The regular program of this Department annually recruits approximately 150 freshmen from senior high school graduates nationwide. Most of successful admissions to the undergraduate program are achieved by passing the competitive Joint-Entrance Examination, while about 15% by a highly selective application process.

Graduate Program

The graduate program of this Department includes : Regular M.S. Degree, Part time M.S. Degree and Ph.D. Degree.

  1. Regular M.S. Degree
    The regular M.S. degree recruits 151 students annually. About 20% the new recruited students are admitted to the program based on a written entrance examination open to students nationwide with a B.S. degree in the fields of mechanical engineering or related engineering, while the rest are admitted through a selective application process, students with academic records (50%) as well as a written examination (50%).
  2. Part time M.S. Degree
    The graduate program recruits 20 part time Master students annually, basing on a written examination (50%), an oral examination and academic records and work experiences (over 3 years) (50%). 
  3. Ph.D. Degree
    At most, 60 students are admitted to the Ph.D. program annually. Students admitted into the Ph.D. program must have M.S. degree and should pass a oral examination (50%), and investigations of academic records and other performances(50%). Students enrolled in the M.S. program with excellent academic records in the first year may also apply for admission to the Ph.D. program.

Plan of Seminar Attendance for International Students

Students need to attend at least five seminars organized by the department and at least five English seminars on campus (including his/ her presentation in group meetings) to fulfill the attendance requirement.
